There are countless issues going on between people in today’s growing world. Whether we’re talking about families, 老化的成年人, or issues that are particular to a specific culture—there is much to be learned by studying how people interact with each other 和 within the world. Our Sociology minor offers you a Christian foundation for a broad liberal arts experience that prepares you to work with people from diverse populations 和 cultures. On-campus activities 和 organizations help develop 和 enhance your social 和文化 experiences, 和 study abroad opportunities offer further options to gain a global perspective.

God created human beings as complex, compelling creatures. We are always learning about our fellow man, 和 people are constantly surprising us. There’s always something new to discover as we take a close look at the science of relationships. Our Sociology minor will teach you how to evaluate social issues 和 problems confronting today’s world 和 recognize the importance of differences across social, 文化, 还有经济线. You’ll also work to underst和和 analyze social systems 和 policies 和 transfer this academic knowledge into real world skills.

Undergraduate Application Steps

For first-time freshman:

Have your school send your official high school transcripts. 成绩单 may be mailed or sent via a transcript processing service to:

Scores on your high school transcript will be considered official. If your school does not put scores on transcripts, please contact 行为 or 大学委员会.

For transfer students:

Submit official transcripts from all colleges/universities attended

*Transfer students with less than 60 college credits completed will also submit official high school transcripts. 学生 who have less than 30 college credits also need to submit official 行为 or SAT scores. Scores on your high school transcript will be considered official.

SAT equivalent of 940 or higher for combined math 和 evidence-based reading 和 writing (for tests taken after March 2016).

*If your GPA or 行为 score falls below the minimum for acceptance, your admissions counselor may ask you to retake the test or supply additional documents, such as an essay or letters of recommendation, to complete the application.

Required Academic Coursework in High School

A minimum of 16 units of high school (secondary school) work is required, of which at least 11 should be in basic liberal arts areas. Units should be distributed as follows:

English: At least three units, but four are strongly recommended.
Mathematics: Two units of college-prep math, preferably one each in Algebra 和 Geometry.
Natural Science: Two units, preferably one each in Biology, Physics or Chemistry.
Social Studies: Two units, preferably one each in world history 和 American history.
Liberal Arts: Two units of the same foreign language or additional units in one or more of the other listed subjects or in fine arts.
Other Electives: Five units from any area of academic study, but ideally from the areas listed above.
German or Latin is recommended for pre-seminary students.
